Week 2: The Shark Attack

Patrick Sharkey won this week. His aggressive, sharklike approach was too much for the table to handle. He kept raising me heads up until I called with pocket 6's against J9 and he had paired the 9 on the flop. I finished second, continuing my respectable play at the table.
The game started with 6 people. The most remarkable thing about this night is that no one spilled a beer on the table. Kind of a tame evening.
Thompson was his usual gregarious self. Ron made it to the last three but didn't win any money. How did that feel?
We called wooboo and told her all about the tournament. She promised to make an appearance sometime. And to bring baked goods.

Week 1 Recap

1. Andrew Hutchinson

2. Ben Morsa

3. John Michael Quarantello

I won the first tournament. Nine of Deloitte's finest started with 100 in chips and it took all of my effort to navigate this loaded table full of people spilling beer and throwing chips. On the first hand, everyone called and I flopped a queen high flush. I tripled up about an hour later when I pulled a river full house to beat two other guys ( I was ahead the whole hand and they thought I was bluffing I guess). When it got down to heads up, Ron bet Pat $100 that Ben would win so Pat ended up winning the most money. I couldn't believe that my teammate didn't believe in me so I had to win. The biggest hand of the day came heads up when I flopped trip Kings and I slowplayed until the river. Ben bet into me three times and then I check raised all in on the river, he called and I took down about a 940 pot (in chips). It didn't take much longer after that to get the last 60.

All in all, it was a ridiculously fun and loose game.

Ron is really interested in this hand. Notice the Deloitte deck. They got these cards at a recruiting event so I guess Deloitte encourages playing poker.

Here is my chip stack after I tripled up with AJ.

My chip stack after winning nearly all the chips with trip Kings. How did that feel, Ron?
